Grade Level Meetings
Our kindergarten teachers meet each week during planning with the reading coach and principal. The meetings usually focus on data results such as unit reading test results or Dibel test results. We discuss new strategies to implement which will hopefully help those students who are not achieving the desired results that we had hoped for. We recently revisited the Scott Foresman ERI kit and Lauren demonstrated a lesson from the program. After the presentation, I watched the demonstration video that came with the kit and a teacher works with three students in an isolated environment. Our teachers and students are not afforded the freedom of working in isolation with a small group of three students. Even though this is not a luxury for our teachers and students, they still work to achieve the desired outcomes and strive to do their very best. Congratulations to each of my coworkers for the excellent job that they do and their support in all of our endeavors to help our students.
